Excellent Start to Cup Journey!

Remix announced its Cup Winning intentions emphatically with a 4-0 thumping of DIV 6 leaders Poseur Utd FC. Prior to the cup tie, much was said about Poseur Utd's capabilities and (wrongly) perceived superiority over the gabrielites.

All the negative speculation however, was swiftly and quickly proven wrong as the individual quality and collective spirit of the Remix boys shone through.

A slighly improved defensive performance saw our first clean sheet of the season. We are on the right foot but lets not make it a case of 1 step forward 2 steps back by further bettering our performance this coming Sunday against Killer Whales
FC.

Atrocious Defending Results in 12 Goal Buffet

Remix secure yet another 3 pts this time against a weak Dwarfs FC team. After racing to a 4-1 lead at halftime, the 2nd half saw both defences make a fool out of themselves resulting in a final score of 8-4. Despite having former Remix frontman Clarence Wee leading the Dwarfs charge, ALL of the 4 goals conceded by Remix were due to horrible over-playing and schoolboy-like sloppy defending!!!

The defence has got to learn to get its priorities right. We lose the ball far too often and too easily when we insist on having that extra touch, or taking on that extra man. IF IT MUST BE CLEARED OR PUT OUT FOR A THROW, THEN WE HAVE TO DO IT!

Poor communication between the Goalkeeper and our defenders led to one of Dwarf's goals when a misunderstanding led to Ravie pulling down the opponent striker for a penalty. Mistakes like this have occured FAR TOO OFTEN these past 2 seasons. We must correct them right now rather than wait for us to lose a game and then lament on the same mistakes all over again.

If a team of Dwarf's quality can punish our defensive frailities with 4 goals, QUALITY OPPOSITIONS WITH QUALITY PLAYERS WILL RIP US APART!

So lets work hard and strive to better ourselves cos we wanna be up there when the season ends. We can start by getting it right this Sunday in the Cup game against Poseur Utd FC!

Match Report:
A very familiar opponent as we ' ve met twice already. Both encounters were filled
with passion and lots of goals, 8 goals in all.


Ready for an exciting game,Remix warmed up with some jogging and stretching.
However, ball control was left out due to the players being late. This showed during the first 10 - 15 mins of the game by some bad passing and control by the Saints. Remix slowly gained control of the game wth some long balls to the flanks.

Speedy wingers Adam and Kelvyn who is also MOM gave CUFC a run for their money.

A freak goal by lanky Gerard early in the game rattled CUFC who were very determined to get at least 1 pt from the game. Salid our holding player looked out of
sorts as he was playing with an injury. Darren replaced him in the 20th min after a
series of struggles.

Half time ended with the score 1-0 but CUFC looked very very dangerous with the set pieces. They won almost every header in corners and free kicks.

The second half started with Remix defending around 5 corner kicks in the first
15 mins. Theylooked most liked scoring in corner and free kick but remix kept feeding them more.

The inevitable happened when Darren lost his man, letting him score in the six yard area. Almost immediatly after the equaliser, Vik, Remix center back lost his cool and got himself sent off for scolding the Referee. 1 man down and the score 1-1,it looked like Remix could only hope for a draw.

CUFC, however, had other plans.
They went for the jagular. They sent many long balls and won many dangerous
freekicks. They wanted all three pts. However hey missed our jagular ,instead, exposed theirs.

Remix won a penalty due to a mistimed tackle. Patrick made the score 2-1. Remix counter attacked by the flanks again and again.


Then, Adam scored a birthdy goal to make it 3-1, out of reach of
CUFC. A fourth super goal by Kel was the icing on the cake. A through ball to the left and he lured CUFC keeper out before cooly chipping the ball over him.

Remix Face 'Draw-Specialists' Next

Remix will be facing last season's draw specialist CUFC next in the league. Ironically, they have not drawn a single game this season, winning 2 and losing 2 with their last result being a 3-0 awarded victory over Dwarfs FC, due to former remix player Clarence Wee playing when he was supposed to serve a 1 match suspension.
