French Toast Served!

A beautiful game played by both teams at the Cantonment Pitch on Sunday. But Remix got the better of it in the second half, showing strength and perseverance to beat Aioli United FC for the first time in 5 games.

Just in the first attack for Remix, they got a goal, Small Mel going for the shot then off the keeper's hands and a shot in by Joey, a new signing to the Remix team. Then Aioli got back the equalizer in the 15th min due to the blunder of the defenders and keeper. A second goal for Aioli in in the 25th min brought tension to Remix's head. Small Mel failing to cover the back defence led to the goal. Straight after the goal, an 'Angel' came in to hold back the game. Muhd Salid came on for Small Mel and changed the game completely. With his 'Salid' (solid) performance and the slight confidence Remix still had, Remix managed to get back the equalizer in the 42nd min. A lob over the keeper by Joey and an own goal by Aioli.
The whistle went off for the first half and soon the second half began.

With a whole new mindset, Remix went in to get back what they deserved. a few changes were made. Kelvyn coming off for Viknesh who took defence and Mark pushed up to attack together with Mike. Wonderful tactics decided by Kelvyn. So after holding the game for about 10min, Remix got a freekick at the side of the pitch. Gerard went forward to take it and with his intention to give a long cross out, the ball just went past the keeper at the top left hand corner to get the lead once again. With that, Remix started playing their best to keep that score in their hands. But with the mindset to just keep composed, things changed again. Joey at the flanks playing hard to get the ball, got what he wanted, pushed to the end of the pitch and squared one in for Mike to get his first goal and the fourth goal for Remix. Game still not over and Remix wanted more, so in the 65th min, Mike got his second goal for the day. Then after being a bit complacent, Aioli got back one more to make it three.

Many fouls were committed. The referee was really selfish with his cards. Not giving any to Aioli players when they came in with hard tackles which were terrible. Francis got a yellow for just celebrating and making noise.

Though Aioli played quite well, Remix played better i should say. With the confidence of many players, though some came back stronger in the second half, made a big difference to the squad.

Players to Thank:
-Joey: held the game well throughout and was part of two goals, scoring one.
-Mike: played extremely well, with his desire to score, sneaked in two goals.
-Francis: though targeted by the opponents, controlled the game in the centre.
-Salid: changed the game with his 'Salid' performance.
-Kelvyn: came out with the perfect substitutions and tactics for the game.
-Gerard: showed tremendous strength, great job on the right wing.
-Justin: another new signing, played brilliantly at centre back.

The others did extremely well in the certain instances to change the game.
"Remix Is a Team!"
"Remix Plays as a Team!"
"Remix Succeeds as a Team!"
Everyone did their part and truly made a difference.

Remix's Controversial Draw With Barbarians!

First game of the season on Sunday against Barbarians FC was a real sad opening for Remix. Adding to the misery of the 1-1 draw, were the bad decisions made by the referee. 4 times where Remix players were brought down in the penalty box and no penalties were given.

Despite the heavy rain, Remix still held the game well. After the equaliser from the Barbarians, which was a real give-away, Remix still fought hard to get back the lead. But due to the referee and his "NO FOULS!" and "NO PENALTIES!", Remix had to accept the disappointing draw.

Next Game: 26th August (Sunday)
Venue: Cantonment Pitch
Time: 9:15am
Opponents: Aioli United FC
