Final Score: Gabrielite Remix 3 - 2 Andernese FC
Match Report:
A scary match against a very strong team who drew with Maykha in the week before.
Maykha claimed that they WILL win all of their matches, therefore we were wary of this
unknown Chinese team who drew with them.
Andernese played with great spirit and determination which was really admirable.
The game started with many hard tackles being thrown in by both sides. It was
basically a mid field battle in the first half. Great passes to the brilliant wingers gave Remix the edge. Remix won the battle in the middle with 3 Remix midfielders challenging 2. A penalty converted by Francis gave Remix the lead.
At 1-0 down, they believed they could at least get a point of us. Interestingly enough, Gabrielite Remix Keeper gave them hope in the second half by some very poor keeping. A simple cross was chested into the net by a nervous remix keeper unsettled the remix side, forcing errors to make us concede yet another goal a couple of mins later. At 2-1 down, we thought we were going to go another season wthout the Championship.
But we knew we had at least half an hour to get us back on track. However, more simple schoolboy errors frustrated the Remix player/manager. With the team not
operating as a whole, Remix looked terribly vulnerable. with 20 mins left, Remix
suddenly seemed to get a sudden urge to fight on. Maybe the Arch Angel gave us
some courage. Even the manager who had given up strted running and fighting.
Remix as a whole fought bravely and were rewarded. An equaliser by Captain Mike
gave Remix hope. Now even Darren thi manager wanted play to resume so we could
score another. He and the Remix team believed that we should not get 1 point, but
3. Indeed 5 mins later, Darren himself scored the winning goal. At 3-2, Remix
screamed and celebrated together as a TEAM!!
Now we know that Team Work and belief is very importat. And we know what we are
capable of.
